Tri Bratovchedki (Debbie Kmetz & Dan Garvin) will cover familiar songs that dancers have heard over the years -- both from recordings and from bands during dance parties.  They will work on harmonies, drones and other vocal parts to encourage people to sing along with music while dancing.  They will also provide lyrics and musical scores that participants may take back with them to continue learning.

Dan Garvin has taught at the Door County Folk Festival, Chicagoland Spring Fling and other dance groups and festivals around the country. He is a leader at Tapestry - the Twin-Cities locally supported and organized Ethnic Dance Center and one of the organizers of SNOPA! - a Twin-Cities Winter Dance Weekend. He was on the dance committee of the folk dance group at Columbia University at Earle Hall in New York City. He danced in Madison Folk Dance Ensemble when he attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Despite being from St Paul [area], he is a member of Tri Bratovchedki, a Balkan singing group from Madison, Wisconsin.

Debbie Kmetz grew up in a family and culture that valued singing and storytelling. As an adult, she has sung Appalachian and country songs in performing duets, trios and bands and has sung Eastern European songs with the Narodno Singers and Tri Bratovchedki.  Debbie and Dan have sung together in Tri Bratovchedki for 18 years.  Debbie has also danced with the Zaibas Lithuanian Dancers since 1991, performing in places including Chicago, Toronto, Madison and Japan.
