Dr. Angelina Ilieva is an instructional professor in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago. She has taught a course on Balkan folklore at the university for 15 years. She holds a PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Northwestern University and an MA in Comparative Literature from Pennsylvania State University. She is originally from Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She does not dance or sing but loves folklore in all of its forms..
